There are a number of changes to casual employment laws that come into effect from Monday 26 August 2024.

These include:

  • a new definition of a casual employee.
  • a new pathway for converting employees from casual to permanent employment.
  • an updated Casual Employment Information Statement (given to all new casual employees).
