Brief Overview

Starting 1 July 2026, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is upgrading SuperStream to version 3. This update is designed to streamline how employers pay superannuation, reducing administrative errors and ensuring contributions reach employees’ funds faster to align with the new Payday Super requirements.

  • Member Verification Request (MVR): Pre-payment check for employee fund details
  • New Payments Platform: Integration with New Payments Platform for faster transfers
  • Enhanced Error Messaging: Clearer explanations for rejected contributions
  • Earlier Fund Visibility: Improved notifications for fund changes (e.g. mergers)
  • Stricter Validation: Warnings may become payment rejections
  • SBSCH Closure: Small Business Superannuation Clearing House will close
